“I’m a Christian. But Muslims are misunderstood. Intentionally misunderstood. We should all be more like them. They make sense, especially with their children. There is no other group like the Black Muslims, who put so much effort into teaching children the right things, they don’t smoke, they don’t drink or overindulge in alcohol, they protect their women, they command respect. And what do these other people do?”(A plague called apathy)
I admire much of what Mr. Cosby has said about raising children in the black community. If both white and black people would listen to much of what he has said our children would be much better off.
However, what he has said here about Muslims in general, and Black Muslims in particular is something that should concern us all. It may be true that they teach their children to abstain from smoking, drinking, and drugs, but they also teach them to hate those who are not like them. Muslims in general teach their children to hate all who are non-Muslims. If they don’t they are not true Muslims because that is what the Koran and the other Muslim authoritative writings teach. Black Muslims teach their children to hate all who are not black, and all who are black but believe that all humans are equal.
Mr. Cosby is right that Muslims are intentionally misunderstood, but he wrong on how they are misunderstood. Islam means submission and, of course, this means submission to Allah. The Koran, and the other authoritative Muslim writings, teach that they are to kill all who will not submit to Allah. Political correctness tries to keep this from the public forum and causes us to think that Islam is a peaceful religion. Just look at its history and you will see that from the beginning it was spread by the sword.
I don’t have the time in this article to give a history of true Christianity but let me say that it is not Catholicism nor her children. Those who have been faithful to the Scriptures have never persecuted anyone for their faith, nor have they spread their faith by force. They were, however, persecuted and killed for their faith by Catholicism and here children.
Mr. Cosby claims to be a Christian. If he is then he should know that true Christians also teach their children to abstain from smoking, drinking, and drugs. We also teach them to love others who are different. While it is true that many who claimed to be Christians stood for slavery and racial discrimination, it is also true it was true Christians who fought against these things and ended slavery, and eventually ended legalized discrimination. It is impossible to end all discrimination because some people are just to dumb to see that skin color doesn’t make the person, character does.
Mr. Cosby has the right to his opinion, as I do to mine. If he is a true Christian he should know that without Christ all will die in their sins and spend eternity in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:11-15). By the way, don’t get mad at me for this, I didn’t write the Bible, God did.
Mr. Cosby is intelligent enough to know that his statement will cause many young black men to join the Black Muslims. If the Bible is the Word of God, and it is, then these young men will be forever condemned to the Lake of Fire.
