Rush Limbaugh has been the defacto leader of the conservative commentator movement since the early 1990’s. Though it is good to hear some conservative voices to counter the liberal slant of the main stream media (CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ETC.) but we, as God’s people, must not forget that we are just passing through this world. The conservative commentators are not friends of biblical Christianity.
These commentators are politically conservative but they are not biblically conservative. They are still part of this world system and are blinded by the God of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Hugh Hewitt, Carson Daly, Stephen Colbert, Morton Downey Jr., Dennis Miller, Tim Russet are all Roman Catholics. John Ziegler is a “recovering Roman Catholic” who calls himself an agnostic. Ann Coulter speaks at homosexual conferences and is vicious toward those who would reprove her for doing so. Michael Medved, Mark Levin, Dennis Prager, Michael Savage, Laura Schesinger are Jews who deny that Jesus is the Christ. Fox News is owned by a pornography distributor who promotes “conservative” politics mostly for the purpose of making money. Glenn Beck is a New Age Mormon who believes man can be the divine “I Am.” He believes that Mormons will restore America. He also says that homosexual marriage is not a problem for America. Even Mike Huckabee, who is an ordained Baptist preacher, has many ungodly people on his show and promotes worldly rock music. Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 and you will see that we should separate from such as these.
We, as Christians, must remember that our hope is not in politics or in conservatism. Our only hope is in the Lord. The Lord can, and will, heal our land of we will turn back to Him (2 Chronicles 7:14). Note the requirements for those who are called by His name. Humility is not the attitude of conservative commentators or most Christians today. Prayer is a lost art in much of Christianity today. Few seek God’s face, which means to seek His will and His approval. Finally, few “Christians” are ready to turn from their wicked ways. When we think of wicked ways we usually think of things like immorality but I don’t think that is the only thing that God considers wicked. Anything that violates God’s precepts is wicked in God’s sight. Doctrinal error, unfaithfulness to church, worldliness, etc. would be considered wicked.
The fate of our nation is in the hands of Christians. As long as the majority of Christians focus on their rights our nation will continue to decline. Most “Christians” today call those who believe in following biblical standards “legalistic.” I must point out that the Bible is a book of law. The law has never saved anyone, nor can it. However, the children of God are expected to live by the rules of God’s word. The love for the Lord Jesus Christ is shown by keeping His commandments (John 14:15, John 15:10).
Let us start listening to conservative commentators and start listening to God and His Word.
